From our lab
to your report

When you order a certified stone, we handle the entire certification process on your behalf. Typical turnaround is 5–10 business days from stone selection to certified delivery.

1
Stone Selection & Pre-Grading
Your selected stone undergoes our 22-point internal assessment. Only stones meeting our AAA threshold are submitted for third-party certification.
2
Submission to Certification Body
We physically deliver stones to GIA, IGI, or your preferred lab. Each stone is sealed in a tamper-evident submission packet with our internal ID and documentation.
3
Independent Grading
The certification laboratory grades the stone by multiple gemologists independently, then reaches a consensus grade. Results are compared against our internal assessment — we maintain a 98.6% concordance rate with GIA grades.
4
Report & Digital Certificate Issued
You receive both the physical grading report and a QR-linked digital certificate. The digital certificate includes blockchain provenance verification, photo record, and your order details.
5
Secure Packaging & Delivery
Stone and report are packaged together in our signature vault case with tamper-evident security seals, then shipped via insured express courier to your address.

Certification
questions answered

Is a certification required on every order?
No — certification is optional and ordered on request. Many wholesale buyers order uncertified lots for settings where the stone won't be individually presented to end customers. For retail or auction use, we recommend full GIA or IGI certification.
How long does certification take?
Standard GIA turnaround is 5–7 business days; IGI is typically 3–5 days. Rush processing (2–3 days) is available at a premium. We submit within 24 hours of order confirmation and update you at each stage.
Can I verify a BODA Gems certificate independently?
Yes. All GIA and IGI reports can be verified directly on their respective websites using the report number. Our QR-linked digital certificates also link to a blockchain provenance record that cannot be altered post-issuance.
What information appears on the grading report?
The report includes: stone species and variety, growth method disclosure ("laboratory-grown"), carat weight, colour grade, clarity grade, cut grade (where applicable), measurements, and for sapphires and rubies — treatment disclosure. Additional optical and spectroscopic data is available in extended reports.
Do lab-grown stones hold their graded value?
The graded characteristics (colour, clarity, cut) are permanent — they do not change. Market resale value of lab-grown stones follows supply and demand dynamics specific to the lab-grown market, which operates separately from the natural stone market.
