BODA Gems is a wholesale supplier of lab-grown gemstone rough, working closely with a network of partner factories. BODA Gems itself does not hold the certifications listed on this page. GIA and IGI reports are issued by those independent laboratories for individual stones, and only when you request them with your order.

GIA and IGI grade one stone at a time — a report applies only to the stone it was issued for. RJC and ISO 9001 certifications are held by some of our partner factories, not by BODA Gems and not by every factory we work with.

Independent Lab Report · On Request
GIA is an independent gemological laboratory and one of the most widely recognised in the
trade. Its reports for laboratory-grown stones identify the stone as laboratory-grown and record its graded
characteristics. BODA Gems is not affiliated with GIA. Stones are not GIA-graded by default: if you need a GIA
report, say so when you place your order and we will send those stones to GIA for grading. Lab fees are added to
your order and delivery takes longer.

International Gemological Institute
Independent Lab Report · On Request
IGI is one of the largest independent gemological laboratories, with labs in many
countries, and its reports are widely used for lab-grown diamonds. BODA Gems is not affiliated with IGI. Stones
are not IGI-graded by default: if you need an IGI report, say so when you place your order and we will send those
stones to IGI for grading. Lab fees are added to your order and delivery takes longer.

Responsible Jewellery Council
Held by Some Partner Factories
The RJC sets standards for responsible business practices in the jewellery supply chain,
covering human rights, labour, environmental impact and business ethics. BODA Gems is not an RJC member and is not
RJC-certified. Some — not all — of the partner factories we work with hold RJC certification. If your order must
come from an RJC-certified facility, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm whether it can be produced by
one.

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management systems. BODA Gems is
not ISO 9001-certified. Some — not all — of the partner factories we work with hold ISO 9001:2015 certification.
If your order must come from an ISO 9001-certified facility, tell us when you enquire and we will confirm whether
it can be produced by one.

How It Works
Ordering stones
with a lab report
Lab reports are not included by default. If you need them, ask when you place your order. Each requested stone is then graded individually by the lab you choose, which adds lab fees and extends delivery time. We confirm both before you commit.

Request Reports With Your Order
Tell us which stones need a
report and which lab you prefer — GIA, IGI or another laboratory. We quote the lab fees and the expected extra
delivery time before you confirm the order.

Stone Preparation
We prepare and record each
stone in your order, so every stone sent to the lab can be matched to its order reference.

Submission to the Laboratory
We send the stones to the
lab you chose. Lab turnaround depends on the lab, the service level and its current workload.

Independent Grading & Report
The laboratory examines
each stone on its own and issues the report in its own name. The grading result is the lab's alone — BODA Gems
does not grade, issue or alter these reports.

Delivery With Reports
Once the lab returns the
stones and reports, we pack them together and ship them to you. You can check each report number on the lab's
own website.

Is BODA Gems itself GIA, IGI, RJC or ISO 9001 certified?
No. GIA and IGI are independent laboratories that grade individual stones — a report covers
only the stone it was issued for, not a company. RJC and ISO 9001 certifications are held by some of our partner
factories; BODA Gems itself does not hold them, and not every factory in our network does.
Do stones come with a lab report by default?
No. Stones are supplied without lab reports unless you ask for them when placing your order.
Many wholesale buyers order without reports; for retail presentation or resale, a GIA or IGI report may be worth
requesting.
How much time and cost does a lab report add?
Both depend on the lab, the stone and the service level chosen. Lab fees are added to your
order, and delivery is extended by the lab's turnaround time. We confirm the fees and expected timeline with your
quote, before you commit.
Can I order from an RJC- or ISO 9001-certified factory?
Tell us when you enquire. We will check whether your order can be produced by a partner factory
that holds the certification you need. This is not possible for every product, so please raise it before the
order is confirmed.
Can I verify a lab report independently?
Yes. GIA and IGI reports are issued by the laboratories themselves and can be checked on their
websites using the report number.
What information appears on a lab report?
Contents vary by lab and report type, but typically include the stone's species and variety,
disclosure that it is laboratory-grown, carat weight, measurements, and colour and clarity grades — plus a cut
grade and treatment notes where applicable. Extended reports may include further optical or spectroscopic
data.
Do lab-grown stones hold their graded value?
The graded characteristics (colour, clarity, cut) are permanent — they do not change.
Market resale value of lab-grown stones follows supply and demand dynamics specific to the lab-grown market,
which operates separately from the natural stone market.
