Our Commitment
A better stone
for a better world
Lab-grown gemstones represent a fundamental shift in how fine jewellery can be sourced — without the environmental destruction, human cost, or ethical ambiguity of traditional mining. BODA Gems operates at the forefront of this transition.
Water Conservation
Lab-grown production is estimated by industry research to use significantly less
water per carat than traditional mining. We encourage water recycling practices across our partner facilities.
Renewable Energy
Our partner facilities in Wuzhou and Nanning, China work toward increasing their share of
renewable and lower-carbon electricity over time, in line with regional grid improvements.
Reducing Waste
Crystal offcuts can be recycled into new growth cycles, and we favour recyclable
packaging materials where practical across our partner network.
Ethical Supply Chain
We work with a network of manufacturing partners across the gemstone supply chain, some
of whom hold RJC certification. We prioritise and encourage responsible practices covering human rights, labour
conditions, and environmental impact across our network.
Industry Research
Why Lab-Grown Matters
Independent industry research consistently points to lab-grown gemstones having a lighter environmental footprint than mined stones — though the exact figures vary by study and depend heavily on each facility's energy mix and water management.
Up to 86%
Less water per carat, per published industry estimates
We encourage water recycling practices across our partner growth facilities where
feasible.
Up to 75%
Less energy per carat, per published industry estimates
The actual benefit depends on whether a growth facility runs on clean energy — we
encourage our partners toward lower-carbon power sources over time.
No Mining
Land disturbed or displaced
Crystal offcuts are recycled into new growth cycles where possible, and we favour
recyclable packaging materials.
